when eternity gazes at itself . . .

“All these things have you said of beauty.
Yet in truth you spoke not of her but of needs unsatisfied,
And beauty is not a need but an ecstasy.
It is not a mouth thirsting nor an empty hand stretched forth,
But rather a heart inflamed and a soul enchanted.
It is not the image you would see nor the song you would hear,
But rather an image you see though you close your eyes and a song you hear though you shut your ears.
It is not the sap within the furrowed bark, nor a wing attached to a claw,
But rather a garden for ever in bloom and a flock of angels for ever in flight.
People of Orphalese, beauty is life when life unveils her holy face.
But you are life and you are the veil.
Beauty is eternity gazing at itself in a mirror.
But you are eternity and your are the mirror.”

when a bartender is more than a hand pouring your drink . . .

Recently I began shooting a series of the talented and expert staff of The Dorrance. Located in the heart of downtown Providence, The Dorrance restaurant maintains the timeless elegance of yesteryear in a gleaming, contemporary way. High ornate ceilings, a long, luxurious bar, and a well-appointed dining room are the backdrop for hand-crafted cocktails and globally-inspired, New England cuisine that commands respect.

Tyler Schweppe is an amazing award winning mixologist who has a flair for true innovation in what separates the great from the good.

enjoying the process . . .

“If we can just let go and trust that things will work out they way they’re supposed to, without trying to control the outcome, then we can begin to enjoy the moment more fully. The joy of the freedom it brings becomes more pleasurable than the experience itself.”
